Dorset Naga is one of the hottest chillies in the world capable of reaching heat levels in excess of a million SHUs. It congruously combines mouth-burning fire with a rich, soothing aroma. The wrinkled cone-shaped fruit are often 4 to 5cm long and ripen from green to red. The tall, bushy plants do best when grown in large pots where they are capable of growing verty tall. Plants will need some support.
Prior to 2006 the hottest pepper in the world…at least according to the Guinness World Records, was the Red Savina Habanero at 577,000 Scoville Heat Units. The Dorset Naga is the pepper that fired the starting gun in the race for the hottest pepper in the world testing over 900,000 SHU. Today, after years of careful cultivation and improvement, the Dorset Naga achieves 1.1 million SHU.
