How Pre-Orders Work

How Our Pre-Order Programme Works

Our pre-order programme allows us to grow chillies specifically for our customers and supply the freshest possible British-grown produce during the harvest season.

Pre-orders are open to trade and retail customers, with a minimum order of 1kg.

Why We Use Pre-Orders

Pre-ordering allows you to:

  • Secure availability of specific varieties
  • Lock in pricing ahead of the season
  • Avoid market shortages and price fluctuations
  • Receive chillies picked and shipped at peak ripeness

It also allows us to plan growing, harvest, and labour accurately — ensuring quality for everyone.

Placing a Pre-Order

  • Pre-orders are placed via quotation
  • Once you’re happy to proceed, a 20% deposit secures your order
  • Your order is then added to our growing programme and seeds are sown
  • The balance is invoiced when your chillies are ready to ship

Pre-orders are accepted until our order book is full.

Harvest & Delivery

  • Chillies are harvested only when ripe
  • We pick, pack, and ship within 24 hours
  • We’ll contact you ahead of harvest to arrange delivery
  • Some varieties ripen at different times, so larger orders may be delivered in stages
  • You’ll only be invoiced for what is picked and shipped at each delivery

Delivery Options

  • Orders under 2kg: Royal Mail
  • Orders between 2kg and 24kg: Courier service
  • Orders can also be collected by arrangement

Delivery charges are confirmed before shipping.

Delayed Deliveries

If delivery needs to be postponed by more than one week:

  • The order will be converted to frozen chillies
  • Frozen pricing will apply
  • Chillies will be stored until delivery can be arranged
  • Storage charges may apply after 30 days

Pod Shape & Colour (Important to Read)

Pod Shape

Some chilli varieties are naturally unstable and may produce varying pod shapes.
We use high-quality commercial seed from reputable suppliers, but natural variation can occur.

If pod shape is critical, please discuss this with us before ordering.

Pod Colour

  • You may request a specific colour at the time of ordering
  • We’ll do our best to deliver this
  • Late-season harvests may result in mixed colours due to slower ripening

Lost or Delayed Parcels

In rare cases where a delivery is lost or significantly delayed:

  • We will attempt to resend once if possible
  • Alternatively, we may offer a replacement variety of equivalent value
