This offer is for TWO (2) chilli plants: One Peach Bhut Jolokia and one Fatalii plant. These can either be collected by choosing our Click and Collect service or we will ship them to you.
Peach Bhut Jolokia was a brand new variety for us in 2020 but proved to be enormously popular. Commonly known as the ‘Peach Ghost’, this version has been bred to ripen to bright peach in colour. It has been included in numerous hosted tasting sessions here at the ranch recently and we can confirm it is every bit as hot, if not hotter, than it’s famous red- ripening cousin but the flavour and aroma is more like sweet ripe mango or peach . The CPI, or Chile Pepper Institute Bhut Jolokia is famous for becoming the hottest chile in the world back in 2007 when it was grown by the CPI at New Mexico State University and became the first chile to break the 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU) average. More importantly, it started a global arms race to breed hotter and hotter peppers.
The Fatalii is a Capsicum chinense chilli pepper which some believe was developed in southern or central Africa from chilies introduced from the Americas. It is described as having a fruity, citrus flavour with a searing heat comparable to the hottest of habanero’s with Scoville Ratings as high as half a million.
The plants will be carefully packaged and shipped via Royal Mail. We’re charging our standard £4.95 for postage and packaging.
These are NOT plug plants. These plants have been re-potted into one litre pots and we’ve given them time to root in.
